EPA is investigating a mass grave of dogs
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is investigating a mass grave of dogs in Morgan County.
Officials with the Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals investigated the land behind the Morgan County dog pound where hundreds of dogs have been buried.
The Morgan County Commission says part-time Dog Warden Jeff Driggs has been burying euthanized dogs behind the lot.
Wednesday, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency investigated and found that Mr. Driggs' disposal practices violate proper procedure.
Commissioner Rick Shriver says the Morgan County Commission placed Driggs on unpaid administrative leave.
The Ohio EPA says the County Commission will most likely not face fines, but will have to properly remove the carcasses from the property.
