A BORDER-COLLIE was seriously injured after a van ploughed into the front of a house last night.
Three of the dogs were the in the front yard of the Moodie Street home in Rozelle when the green Citroen van smashed through the timber fence and into the front of the house, shortly before 10pm.
The van charged through a six-foot wooden fence, through the front door of the home, tearing through down framing and brickwork. The van came to a stop nose first in the dining room.
The startled resident - a 39-year old man - was home at the time, but escaped uninjured.
Police Rescue teams attended the scene, retrieving the frightened pets. Wrapped in brown blanketing, the dog's owner carried his pet from the wreckage, before police escorting it to the Animal Referral Hospital in South Strathfield.
Emergency veterinary staff treated the dog for cuts and broken bones.
Police are still questionin the 36-year-old driver from Bundanoon in the Southern Highlands. He was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where his blood alcohol level was tested.
